Educational Psychologist Dr Lyn Thijsse, the founder of and still the driving force behind Eureka Learning Systems (ELS) has been involved in education all of her professional life. After obtaining an HDE (Higher Diploma in Education), she worked as a maths and science teacher in several schools.
Her interest in the ‘science behind learning’ and especially learning for children with special educational needs, prompted her to study first for a BEd, then for a MEd and finally a DEd (Psychology of Education).
She has a strong interest in neuroscience and how this can explain learning processes and learning difficulties and continues to follow research and development in this area.

We believe that by meeting a child “where they are at” (developmentally, behaviourally and socially) and extending their thinking capacity with specifically selected learning materials, we build up not only the child’s cognitive and functional abilities, but also their human spirit”
